I enjoyed today's timothy's class. basically, today is an experiential learning and we have a time for discussion. i was asked to list down 5 essestial criterias which i think is needed to become a shepherd & also to observe the environment/surrounding of TCC(the place we had our class) etc. i think it's a new style of learning and personally i find that i learn it better this way ! haaw. new exposure, i like ! ( :
The idealistic shepherd i want to be next time :
1) Risk taker
- i want to be a risk taker for God. someone who's willing to try on new ground, not held back by fear, but to really go all out. If you dare to take risk for God, does'nt that means you trust God too?
2)Word centered
- i want to have a deeper understanding the bible. i dont want just to be informed but also to be inspired. i do not only want to be knowledgable about the bible but i also want to be annoited with widsom, for widsom means applied knowledge. i want to apply the bible's principal into my real life too ! Well, put it simply, it means,
walk the talk !
3)Visionary
- i want to have a goal in mind. catch the picture & strive towards it ! i need to be consistent in my vision for God !
4) Loving & caring
- i want to be a loving & caring shepherd whom truly and sincerely care for the sheeps. most importantly is to have a burden for people's life. i wanna be FATS( faithful, available, teachable,
submissive) !
5) Listener
- slow to anger, slow to speak, quick to listen. i want to be a listener whom can listen & analayse problems in a calm manner. i wanna be someone who can motivate/encourage sheeps who're down.
haaw.i find that leader is never easy to be. it's either people like or dislike ur leadership. but something i learnt from leanne is that you dont have to be a popular leader; gain people's favour by compromising to them or dare not rebuke them directly. but it's important to become a blibical leader whereby you examplify your life; rebuke when necesscarily & to lead people to the vision.I really wanna thank God for this chance to attend this class. i'm anticipating for the next timothy class. Lot's of discussion. i love it. ( :
